About the Event
The coastal area is the where the highest shorebird (sandpipers, plovers, and allies) diversity can be seen. Making the South Padre Island Birding Nature Center & Alligator Sanctuary a perfect place to study them and learn about them. Shorebirds have a stigma of being notoriously difficult to identify, but don't be discouraged, it is easier than it is made out to be! Join Naturalist Educator, Javier Gonzalez, as he presents the shorebirds species that can be seen along our coastal area and shares insight on how simplify identification during an indoor presentation followed by an tour on the boardwalk.
The new moon on this day should bring the tides to a low extreme, providing the best shorebirding opportunity!
