About the Event
Learn about the important partnership between the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge and its neighbor, Cactus Creek Ranch, a wildlife conservation and education ranch.
The tour will begin with a van tour of the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge's "Lakeside Drive" which travels along the shore of the Laguna Atascosa, a freshwater lake where an incredible diversity of wildlife congregate! We'll have to opportunity to see an amazing number and diversity of wintering waterfowl as well specialty songbirds (Green Jays, Altamira Oriole, Great Kiskadee), birds of prey, Nilgai, White-tailed Deer, Texas Tortoise, American Alligators and other amazing wildlife.
The end of the drive will leave us practically at Cactus Creek Ranch, where we will join ranch owner, Mary Jo Bogatto, for a tour of her unique ranch house full of interesting natural history artifacts followed by a short walking tour of the property. She and her family of will detail…
