Saturday Dec 18th Guided Birding Tour

Enjoy the beautiful bird life of South Padre Island on a nice and easy morning stroll on our boardwalk through stunning tidal wetlands along the Laguna Madre as well as a freshwater oasis with our Naturalists Educators as your guide. The late fall/winter season is a great time of year to enjoy a wide range of bird diversity in our habitats as wintering birds of prey, shorebirds, songbirds, and waterfowl join our resident species for the season! The cooler weather and beautiful light also make for a great morning!

Due to extreme high tides during this time of year, our birding tours are being scheduled for the early afternoon to give the tides some time to drop so the greatest diversity of species can be enjoyed on the tour. Bring plenty of water and wear loose clothing to mitigate the afternoon heat.

For your safety, the tours are limited to 10 participants. Sanitized binoculars are loaned during the tour.

Birding Tours at this time are limitied to students above 13 years of age as well as adults and seniors. 

General Admission will be paid seperately upon arrival to the birding and nature center.
