About the Event
The Rio Grande Valley is a place like no other within the United States. Its geographic location and subtropical climate harbors a beautifully diverse ecosystem with plants and animals found nowhere else in the country creating a landscape has been grounds to historical events that have shaped the nation and the state. This tour aims at telling the story of the areas' natural and social histories led by local RGV Texas Master Naturalists through Hugh Ramsey Nature Park, a site they've built up with their knowledge of plants and habitat, follewed by a stop at Palo Alto Battlefield where the park's history will be nerrated by National Park Service interpreters. SPIBNC Volunteer Naturalists will also be along to help you spot and enjoy the birds and wildlife encountered along the way.
Bring your own binoculuars, or you may rent one from us for $5.
Tour leaves from and returns to the SPI Birding & Nature Center.
In case of bad weather, the tour will be postponed to Friday, Feb 11th.
Cancellations must be done 4 days in advance to recieve a %50 refund!
With everyone's health in mind, the use of face masks is recommended while in tour van.
