About the Event
Join Texas Parks and Wildlife's Biologist for the RGV region, Ernesto Garcia-Ortega on a special tour of the Arroyo Colorado Unit - Las Palomas Wildlife Management Area.
This unit is not open to the public, making for a great opportunity to visit this lush riparian ecosystem situated on the banks of the Arroyo Colorado Watershed.
The unit is known for its amazing plant and wildlife diversity. This is a tour for those interested in the local native botany of the area, those looking for a unique birding and wildlife watching opportunity, and for those interested in how the land is managed for wildlife and conservation.
Some light walking through maintained trails is involved on this tour.
Binoculars will be available to borrow during this tour.
Birding tour leaves from and returns to the South Padre Island Birding & Nature Center.
Tour goes out rain or shine, but in the case of severe weather it will be postponed to Wednesday, Feb 14th.
Cancellations must be done 4 days in advance for a 50% refund
