Creation of Monarch Butterfly Habitat Gardens

SPI is a “super highway” for the vanishing

Monarch Butterfly.  Habitat is needed,

specifically “zygotes milkweed” to preserve this species.

Mangrove and Cattail Management  

Mangroves are vital habitat for shore birds and must be managed yearly to allow for additional species of birds. Invasive plant species management is an ongoing program to protect healthy native plant life.

Children’s Interactive Area

A ‘special’ area with hands on activities for small children to provide education about the Monarch Butterflies through play.

Part-Time Naturalist

Birdly is an interactive Virtual Reality exhibit which gives children and adults alike the experience of seeing and feeling what it is like to
